Any organisation or individual referred to on this site may respond, and any response will be published in full.
Commitments
What is guaranteed
Publication in full
Any substantive response received is published in full and unedited, alongside the material it addresses. Responses are not summarised or paraphrased.
Prompt correction
Where a factual error is identified, it is corrected as soon as it is verified, with a dated note recording what was changed.
No burying
Corrections appear on the page containing the error, not only on a separate corrections list.
Reasonable time to respond
Where new material naming an organisation is to be published, that organisation is offered a reasonable opportunity to comment first.
No conditions
Responding does not require agreement with anything on this site, and a response is not treated as acceptance of any position.
Scope
What this site does not say
It is worth restating plainly, because it is the foundation of everything here: this project does not state that any company or person has caused pollution, subsidence, illness, wildlife harm or tree failure.
It records confirmed facts as confirmed, reported observations as reported, working hypotheses as hypotheses, and everything else as not yet established. Where an operator fact is documented, it is stated as documented. Where causation is unresolved, the site says exactly what evidence would resolve it.
If any page departs from that standard, that is an error and it will be corrected on request.
